Innovating models of care through digitisation, digitalisation, and research in our areas of excellence. This entails adopting advanced technology and research approaches to boost operational efficiency, accessibility and overall quality of care provided to elders.

Examples of innovative areas supported by SLEC Community Transformation Fund include:

  • Cutting-edge robotics rehabilitation equipment to help elders regain and maximise their abilities to perform activities of daily living independently.
  • One-stop app for seamless communication across different stakeholders and provide updates on latest care tips.
  • Optimised transport management system for efficient route-planning, scheduling, and safety of over 1,600 elders across our 40 vans.
  • Refreshment of designs at our centres for improved programme management.

Pioneering community-centric academic collaborations with institutions of higher learning and appointing academic fellows to mentor and guide research efforts dedicated to innovating new care models.

Funding is essential to attract academic fellowships and partners to join SLEC to drive research that will shape the future of community care in Singapore.

Developing and scaling carefully tailored graceful ageing programmes for elders across the care continuum - from frail to agile, while also professionalising initiatives that align with our GRACE model of care, emphasising holistic and personalised approaches to ageing that prioritises the elders’ individual needs and well-being.

Examples of signature programmes supported by SLEC Community Transformation Fund include:

  • Living Artfully: Introduces arts modalities such as Nagomi art, painting and drawing. Elders shared and re-created colourful tales of their past through their artworks, under the theme “My Life Story”.
  • MELO-D: Engage elders with dementia using music and music-related activities infused with reminiscence components.
  • Dining Culture: Address the nutritional and psycho-social needs of our elders through thematic dining experiences.
  • Intergenerational Programme: Bridge generations and foster positive relationships between the young and old through exchanging knowledge, skills and life experiences.

Strengthening thought leadership and knowledge sharing within the community care sector and advocate impactful changes which may influence eldercare policies and elevate standards of eldercare across Singapore.

Support is vital to our efforts in engaging with policymakers, sharing best practices, and driving systemic improvements that benefit the entire eldercare ecosystem. The annual SLEC CommCare Symposium strives to share knowledge with other healthcare professionals and community partners.

Fostering a collaborative ecosystem with both internal and external stakeholders to support ageing-in-place initiatives, facilitating intergenerational connections, and forming consortiums with like-minded partners to enhance community well-being and sustainability.

Funding support is required to establish and sustain connections with industry partners, community organisations, and corporations to create a more integrated and supportive community for our elders.

Continual upskilling and reskilling of healthcare professionals, volunteers and caregivers to meet the evolving industry demands. This includes providing professional development opportunities for future-ready leaders in community care, facilitating career transitions into the care economy, and enabling senior staff to adapt to new roles.

Funding is essential to support SLEC CommCare Academy in curating training programmes to ensure our workforce remains knowledgeable, skilled, and prepared to deliver the highest quality of care to our elders. Recently accredited by SSG, SLEC CommCare Academy underscores our commitment to equipping professionals with the skills they need to thrive in today's ever-evolving workforce.
